Job Overview:

This resource will insure Operational Stability and continued software support of the above mentioned CICS and MQ Production and Test subsystems

Install mainframe operating systems and program products. This contractor will play a critical role in the support and systems integration of the mainframe infrastructure and vendor supplied software. The contractor will work closely with team members to assure successful software implementations and continued effective use of installed computer resources. The contractor will be responsible for providing technical support and aid in problem identification and resolution. The specific areas of concentration include CICS and MQ.

Major Duties/responsibilities

• Provides medium to high complexity Infrastructure support activities including off-shift support.
• Completes Infrastructure Engineering and Administration maintenance tasks and analyzes process for improvement.
• Performs medium to high complexity Infrastructure changes and implementations.
• Analyzes potential changes and enhancements to system software and databases to determine impact on existing production systems, system design standards and operating procedures.
• Works as a member of a project team on Business projects. May lead teams on smaller projects.
• Provides direction and guidance to more junior associates.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge

• Mainframe, MQ (MQseries), CICS – core installations, version upgrades, operation, and systems monitoring.
• Proficient in configuring highly-secure systems.
• Requires in-depth knowledge of Infrastructure Hardware and Software Technologies and best practices
• Advanced within Infrastructure Technology Discipline-Wintel (Unix, Linux Mainframe, Virtual technologies, IT tools and other relevant technologies are a plus)
• Strong knowledge of the organization, processes and customers

Advanced in incident and change management principles and best practices

Minimum Experience:

• Minimum 5-7yrs of MQ, CICS, and Mainframe: installations and upgrades
• Minimum 5 years of experience installing and building Infrastructure and providing operational support. Specific Infrastructure experience with the latest technology
