DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  The 19A Bus Driver is responsible for operation of an agency vehicle providing client transportation of mentally retarded/developmentally disabled adults to and from daily pick-up points in a safe and efficient manner.  Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:

1.Provide necessary assistance to passengers getting on and off vehicles.

2.Operate wheelchair lift providing required assistance to passengers

3.Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of interior of assigned vehicle.

4.Attend required training as directed by Transportation Coordinator.

5.Complete Passenger attendance and a Pre-trip inspection checklist

6.Perform pre-trip inspection on vehicle and report any problems to Transportation Coordinator.

7.Maintain established route manifest along with timeframes for picking    up and dropping off passengers.

8.Prompt reporting of any vehicle operation difficulties or client related                  difficulties to Transportation Coordinator.

9.Adherence to agency/program policy and procedures as specified in Transportation Manual

10.Ensure the health, safety and well-being of passengers.

11.Responsible for fueling of assigned vehicles on a daily basis.

12.Any other duties as assigned by Direct Supervisor.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

- Must possess and maintain Class B CDL License with Passenger endorsement.

- Must be able to meet DMV 19A requirements.

- Responsible for following agency safety and health policies, procedures and rules.

QUALIFICATIONS

- High School Diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education and experience that meets the needs of the department and agency
