Web Services Developer - Full-time / Part-time

The Web Services Developer is a member of the team of IT professionals responsible for the Valvoline Instant Oil Change point of sale and ERP systems, among other things. This role will ensure the efficient development, testing and deployment in JEE technologies. In addition will provide system administration and support functions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work with the business to define requirements and identify solutions.
• Develop web services, web applications, batch applications and interfaces that support the VIOC business.
• Develop and maintain applications and services using JEE and Spring technologies.
• Effectively communicate issues and resolve problems at all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
• Must be comfortable in rapidly changing and sometimes ambiguous work situations. Keen attention to detail and complex problem solving abilities from operational and technical perspective. Ability to work independently and engage supervisor as needed.
• Work with colleagues in a virtual environment. Be comfortable communicating and working with resources who work in India.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or other technical major preferred
• Experience developing with java 1.5 or above.
• Experience with JPA 2 or Hibernate 3 or above.
• Experience with CDI or Spring.
• Experience with Java Server Faces 2.
• Experience with Unit testing using jUnit.
• Experience with Weblogic, Tomcat, Sql Server, Oracle, Eclipse, HTML 5, CSS 3, jQuery a big plus.
