POSITION: LINE COOK

WHO WE ARE: We are anything but typical. We are awesome. We are an independent, family-owned, badass, high volume, waterfront restaurant that serves high-end fine food in a semi-casual relaxed environment. We have been in business for 18 years (1998) and our Executive Chef/Partner, Chris Bodensky, has been with us for the past 16 years. After graduating #1 in his class at Le Cordon Bleu (Ranked the #5 culinary school in the United States) Chris trained under Paul Prudhomme & Emeril Lagasse at the famed Commanders Palace in New Orleans for 4-years. Our managing partner, Michael Takacs, has been with us for 9 years, and we have a bunch of long-term employees, including a bartender and a server who have been with us since our first day in business 18 years ago. In total, we have 80 employees (28 in the kitchen) and we are all dead serious about what we do, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. We are funny, witty, and sarcastic - and our kitchen is staffed with kickass talent from top to bottom.

WHO YOU SHOULD BE: You shouldn't suck. You should be awesome. You should have (preferably) graduated from culinary school - but if you didn't go to school that's ok - as long as you are a badass. Regardless, you MUST have a few years of experience as a LINE COOK, because we DO NOT have the time to train you from scratch. You should thrive on pressure and volume - on busy days we will serve over 1,000 covers, and our 2015 sales volume puts us in the top 1,200 highest grossing independent restaurants out of 454,695 in the country. If you are bad at math, that's perfectly ok - we put it into our calculator; that volume ranks us in the top 0.2% of all independent restaurants in the entire United States. If you don't thrive on pressure, you will not survive here AND be HAPPY at the same time, and we don't like working around unhappy people. We'd be willing to make an exception for you if you're miserable, but only if you are both - extremely talented and extremely funny.

WHAT THE POSITION IS: We won't bore you or waste your time with a long list of job duties here. You work in a kitchen as a line cook now; you know the other details. If you don't already know them, then please stop reading here.

WHAT THE JOB PAYS: Tons of money, company car of your choice, and 12-weeks of paid vacation to be used anytime you want. Ok, seriously - salary is negotiable based upon your experience, we offer competitive pay, and after 1 year, we pay 75% of your health insurance which is through Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
