This position provides Key Accounts new business sales support for the Account Executives handling cases in the 100-3000 eligible segment. Duties include coordinating and executing the new business presale process for both medical and specialty proposal requests - i.e. scrubbing proposal requests for pertinent information, obtaining missing information from the brokers and consultants, analyzing current benefit offering and providing benefit comparisons, submitting requests in the sales database, working with underwriting on plan selection, etc. . In addition, the New Business Coordinator will act as the point of contact between brokers and underwriting. New Business Coordinators are responsible for scrubbing all new cases and submitting them for installation. In addition to the tasks above, New Business Coordinators may also be asked to do the following - request and produce network reports, communicate with the brokers on prospects, assist with implementation of new groups, submit and track ancillary quote requests for our account management team, maintain the sales database for RFPs and groups submitted.
Positions in this function identify and develop potential business opportunities and new targeted customers or groups, but do not have primary responsibility for closing sales. Establishes and cultivates strategic business relationships with key sales and market influencers, potential new customers, and related community institutions. Works closely with sales and marketing groups to translate business development strategies into specific initiatives, additional market research projects, and selling activities. Management positions in this function may work closely with finance and other functions on potential acquisitions and alliances, but that is not the primary focus of jobs in this function.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


High School Diploma or GED
2+ years of Client, Member, and/or Broker Relations experience within Healthcare Insurance
Microsoft Excel – must be able to sort, filter, enter data, use basic formulas
Microsoft Word – must be able to create and modify documents
MS Outlook – must be able to manage emails and calendars
Preferred Qualifications:

PowerPoint - able to create and modify presentations

Ability to obtain Life & Health Certification - Issued by CA Department of Insurance
