Panera Bread - Now Hiring Maintenance Technician

Now seeking experienced Maintenance Technician to support multiple bakery-cafes in the Connecticut area. This is a Monday through Friday position, 8am-5pm, may be required to work some overnight hours in lieu of day hours if need be.  On call every third weekend for emergencies. Reliable transportation is required. Candidate must be able to provide their own tools.

Position Mission: To maintain bakery-cafes in safe operating condition; addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns; and monitoring and maintaining equipment at all designated locations.

Position Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Performs construction and/or repairs of drywall, woodwork, tile, etc.
• Performs a variety of preventive maintenance activities (e.g. filters, belts, thermostats, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining items in an operative and safe condition
• Ability to diagnose equipment
• Repairs of miscellaneous bakery-café items and equipment
• Performs electrical work in and around bakery-cafes
• Maintains and paints wall surfaces as needed
• Prioritizes work orders (e.g. importance, location, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring equipment is repaired in an efficient and effective manner
• Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns
• Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site
• May require working overnight hours at times

Non-essential Functions:

• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the bakery-cafes.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand on your feet for eight hours
• Ability to lift up to fifty pounds
• Ability to carry, push, and/or pull, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl

Preferred Background:

• At least 5 years maintenance worker experience, preferably in food service environment
• Ability to work as a team and on an individual basis
• Self-motivated
• Experience operating equipment used in skilled trades, power and hand tools, etc.; adhering to safety practices; handling hazardous materials; and planning and managing projects.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation available for business use, and state required auto insurance.
