Position Purpose: The Manager - Vendor Management is responsible for managing contingent labor relationships with vendors, driving vendor strategy, cost management, continuous improvement, innovation, and performance and contractor life cycle management for strategic vendors, and ensuring compliance as well as managing direct reports to accomplish goals. The Manager - Vendor Management ensures that the focus is on internal customers and vendors receiving maximum benefit and helping to resolve issues as they arise. This includes making sure that communications are concise and understandable, onboarding and off boarding are effective, and that all concerns are addressed promptly.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
  • 20% - Process Mgmt: Manages the workflow of contingent labor requests. Executes vendor audit activities and reporting. Applies analytical skills and vendor management experience to design and implement continuous improvement opportunities for all facets of vendor activities
  • 20% - Analytics: Maintains scorecard and metrics on vendor management, vendor relationships, and contracts. Proactively identifies service delivery issues and provide solutions. Conducts performance SLA/KPI analysis. Investigates and reconciles invoice issues
  • 20% - Quality Assurance: Ensures all existing and future priorities parallel business priorities. Ensures Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Service Level Agreements (SLA) objectives are met. Ensures all vendors are in alignment with policies and follow SOPs
  • 20% - Business Relationship: Sources qualified vendors. Aligns onboarding processes so that business values are reflected. Evaluates vendor relationships and recommends termination if necessary.
  • 10% - People (External): Serves as point of contact for vendors; acting as a liaison to resolve daily operational issues. Partners with vendors and department leaders to ensure understanding and clarity of new processes; troubleshooting problems when needed. Develops onboarding and offboarding vendor methods.
  • 10% - People (Internal): Understands business partners needs. Assists, when needed, in training end users. Develops direct reports.
Nature and Scope: This position reports to the Director Contingent Labor Services. This position has 2 direct reports.
Environmental Job Requirements: Environment: 1. Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel: 1. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.Standard Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must pass the Drug Test.
  • Must pass Background Check.
  • Must pass pre-employment test if applicable.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:
Education Required: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.
Work Experience Required: 8 years
Physical Requirements: Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Vendor Management System (VMS) experience preferred
  • Contingent Labor Management (CLM) / Contingent Workforce Management (CWM) experience preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in HR, vendor management, procurement or staffing
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to communicate and present information to various groups within the organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
