POSITION PURPOSE - The Home Depot ecommerce design team is hiring a passionate and proven visionary to define and drive the next generation of user experiences for our mobile and web products.  As Senior UX Manager, you will drive UX direction within ecommerce across web and mobile, and lead a team of highly talented designers and contractors.

You are responsible for developing and promoting user experience design best practices across the product lifecycle and platforms.  The role includes hiring, managing, and mentoring a UX team as well as hands-on work.  This role will be responsible understanding customer behavior, collaborating on conceptual designs for new products, and working closely with product management, other creative teams, and development teams.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- 30% Develops strategy to create innovative ecommerce experiences that meet the needs of The Home Depot's business and online consumers. 
-20% Ensures website look and feel, usability, information architecture, and content meet established standards and online best practices.
- 20% Serves as primary business contact and works cross functionally with IT, Online Creative, and Online Merchandising to develop, prioritize, manage, and execute a comprehensive release schedule for the site that encompasses new features/functionality, on-site promotions, and content enhancements.
- 10% Conducts competitive and industry research to identify best practices and serves as a resource to the broader Online team on these issues.
- 20% Manages / develops team of internal User Experience Managers and Analysts.

NATURE AND SCOPE
- Position reports to Vice President, Online Operations.
- Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionableMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be eighteen years of age
- Must pass the Drug Test

EDUCATION REQUIRED
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 07

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 
- MS, PhD, or otherwise strong academic exposure to Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Usability Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience leading design and research in a fast-paced ecommerce environment.
- Experience leading and managing a responsive design system.
- Previous ecommerce and/or e-Marketing experience at national-level ecommerce site.
- Previous experience with UX in Agile development.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
- Excellent decision making and problem solving skills.
- Proven analytical ability with demonstrated financial business planning skills.
- Ability to effectively negotiate conflict and persuade others on the merits of a design or other user experience solution.
- Ability to lead cross-functionally with IT, Marketing, and Merchandising functions.
- Ability to assess, prioritize, and make trade-offs against business, technical, and user constraints.
