Overview:

The Retail Sales Specialist will support manufacturer brand growth and maintenance by working

effectively with store management to increase sales and execute client-driven merchandising that meet the client's expectations. The Retail Sales Specialist will need to be outgoing, friendly, and be able to drive sales and brand awareness for our client's products at Top Major Retailers and Convenience Stores. The ideal candidate is independent, self-motivated, ambitious, and driven to succeed in order engage and educate the customers on their next purchase of some of the leading brands in retail.

Responsibilities:

* Sell in new items, shippers, missing category items

* Call on stores to meet with key decision makers

* Recommend item deletions

* Increase brand representation and effectiveness through establishing and maintaining customer and client relationships.

* Read planograms and set stores to compliance

* Report all store time and results accurately and same-day

* Route and plan time efficiently to maximize in-store time

* Lead retailer initiatives as necessary

* Achieve client goals and objectives by effectively managing stores within your territory and executing projects and standards.

* Attend trade shows and events as necessary

* Communicate directly with the clients

* Executes retail merchandising tasks as scheduled

* Provide customer service, answering questions and resolving problems.

* Recommend opportunities to cross merchandise

* Target items showing low sales

* Meet and exceed sales goals, by educating store managers on merchandising analytics

* Increase sales volume through promotional activity by selling and building displays, creating themes with related items to support holiday/special promo events, and making plan-o-gram adjustments when necessary.

* Will complete accurate and timely paperwork and reports, recaps, itineraries, timesheets, expense reports, etc.

Qualifications:

* Excellent interpersonal skills

* Working knowledge of business technologies, processes, merchandising, marketing within a retail operation

* Proficient in all MS Office software suite

* Works semi-independently while taking direction/advice from manager and senior team members and communicating improvement recommendations to manager and senior team members.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.

Experience: 2-5+ years selling, grocery, retail, CPG experience

Performance Metrics: Nielsen IRI, Scan Data of Items Sold In, Self-reported surveys, team/client scorecards
