Essential Job Functions:
  • Develop annual and quarterly sales strategy to meet goals for TWC News and Sports Network across 4 - Upstate NY markets
  • Have a passion for News and Sports marketing and client results
  • Prepare and deliver sales meeting presentations to educate and train teams weekly
  • Create packages and programs to drive sales for teams
  • Travel monthly to Upstate NY markets of Buffalo, Rochester, CNY and Albany markets to work with sales leaders, sales and sales support
  • Work collaboratively with cross functional leaders from media sales and news and sports teams
  • Work with sales teams and sales leaders to maintain customer satisfaction and accountability through consultative selling
  • Support in all stages of the sales cycle, from prospecting to developing customer rapport, closing business and servicing accounts
  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding weekly, monthly and quarterly sales goals with focus on solution based selling and digital product inclusion
  • Maintain price and product integrity to ensure maximum company profitability
  • Meet with key decision makers to develop advertising programs that target client specific needs
  • Support local market needs and sales initiatives

Essential Job Competencies:
Sales Skills
  • Knowledge and passion for news and sports advertising and how it impacts local client businesses
  • Inventory pricing and management experience
  • Understanding the competitive landscape
  • Sales meeting and presentation experience
Digital:
  • Understands how digital inventory is transacted
  • Knows how digital platforms work together with linear TV
  • Deep market knowledge of online and digital marketplace:
  • Ability to explain complex digital media features in simple terms

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Experience with local and regional news and sports sales a plus!
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or 4-6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years experience in local broadcast, cable, on-line or print media sales with a minimum of 2 years experience in digital media required.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, motivational and organizational skills required and ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of advertising sales software preferred.


Driving is a requirement for this position. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and safe driving record.
