Time Warner Cable Sports, Buffalo region is requesting the opportunity to host up to two college interns for the Spring semester of 2017. Candidates must have an interest in Sports Production. Interns will work directly with TWC SportsChannel staff assigned to the Buffalo Region to gain practical experience in the following production disciplines.

  • Production Research – obtain required rosters and statistics for planned event coverage.
  • Work with staff to enhance Social Media components of TWC SportsChannel
  • Develop formats with the assigned Producer/Director for planned events
  • Assist in studio productions as required by our content team
  • Experience field production of live events including
    • load in/out of games
    • set-up and operation of cameras
    • operation of audio equipment
    • preparation of graphics/scorebug
    • engineering functions
    • transmission
    • operation of video replay
    • statistics
    • field coordination
    • onsite management
    • pre-game research
Interns will job shadow professional staff in a variety of production disciplines and under supervision will experience hands-on operation of required production tasks.

Candidates must be willing to work evening and weekend hours, local travel will be required. Candidates may need to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Candidates will work in a variety of indoor and outdoor climates.

Interns are required to complete all requirements set by the sponsoring educational institution, including advisor meetings, journals and projects prescribed by the institution.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a communications and/or journalism program at an accredited college or university.
  • Must receive academic course credit.
