Description

Maintenance / Production Mechanic Level II - Responsible to mechanically and electrically troubleshoot and repair packaging equipment in a timely manner. Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on production lines and facilitate equipment changeovers. Communicate opportunities of improvement to management.

Basic Duties:

• Mechanically and electrically troubleshoot difficult equipment problems, must quickly and correctly accomplish equipment repairs, and meticulously perform preventative maintenance on equipment.

• Support Level I and Level II Technicians and Equipment Operators to solve machine issues.

• Overhaul and install new equipment.

• Fabricate and repair machine parts.

• Basic tig and arc welding skills as needed.

• Required to maintain clean and safe work area.

• Required to accurately generate parts request and complete preventative maintenance worksheets in a timely manner.

• Generate and complete work orders as assigned.

• Perform packaging equipment changeovers.

• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety Program, and support Audit Standards.

• Use your knowledge and skills to continuously improve the operation, efficiency, and product quality of the DPSG brands.

Schedule: 1st Shift - start times between 5AM - 6AM

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of electrical/mechanical industrial maintenance experience required.

• Prove mechanical and electrical diagnostic/troubleshooting skills in a high-speed industrial environment.

• Must proficiently troubleshoot, operate, and train others on all major production and support equipment.

• Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.

• Demonstrate strong mechanical, electrical, and technical aptitude.

• Ability to identify defective parts and materials.

• Advanced computer skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to follow manufacturer’s specifications and schematics.

• Must demonstrate Advanced Electrical troubleshooting skills (PLC, Servos, PID, VFD, RS Logix, Devicenet, etc.).

• Work independently with limited supervision.

• Required to supply hand tools from tools list.

• Willingness to learn from and teach others.

• Trained to operate a forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift.

• Fabricate basic parts using shop tools and machines (Lathe, Mill, Drill Press, etc.).

• Must be a Teamplayer

• Must be flexible to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Occasional overtime as needed.
