Sensors & Integrated Systems (SIS), a business unit of UTC Aerospace Systems, provides cutting-edge sensors and sensor-based systems for the commercial aerospace, ground vehicle and defense industries including electronic flight bags, air data systems, ice detection and protection systems, fire protection systems, fuel measurement and management systems, guidance navigation and control systems, health and usage management systems, rescue hoists, mission data recorders, and sensing suites for aircraft engines.

The Technician performs a wide variety of moderate complex technical tasks related to inspection, repair, of maintenance and facility equipment. These tasks include general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair work. The technician work includes a broad range of air handlers, exhaust systems, HVAC, water towers maintenance and repairs. Technician will also serve as a back-up to other technician on complex projects as required. Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills are required.

Qualifications Qualifications

Required:

Must be able to program, install, troubleshoot and maintain Metayes Controls.

Ability to read and interpret sketches and drawings.

Ability to fabricate parts, if needed, for a project.

Ability to troubleshoot and determine appropriate repair methods and parts.

Good mechanical/electrical ability.

Mental alertness and ability to concentrate.

Valid driver's license.

Demonstrate experience using computer software (MS Office) and maintenance work order tracking system.

Candidate must also be able to interact in a team environment.

Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills are required.

Working Conditions -- Physical requirements and environment

Exposure to moving, mechanical parts and high, precarious places, both inside and outside, with weather conditions.

Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Peripheral vision and depth perception.

Ability to operate various hand and power tools.

Ability to perceive colors for electrical circuitry work.

Ability to wear protective equipment when required, such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and gloves.

Ability to drive company maintenance trucks for picking up parts and materials.

Must be willing to work non-standard shifts, nights, and weekends to support production requirements.

Required to lift up to 35 pounds, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and kneeling

Must be willing to support other trades with repairs or preventative maintenance.

Education Education

High School Diploma

Required:

5 years previous HVAC, plumbing, electrical or maintenance experience.

Requires an EPA type universal certificate and HVAC section 608 certification
