MAJOR FUNCTION

  • This predominately field position is accountable for supervision of the day-to-day activities of an assigned direct sales team of field representatives.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Responsible for ensuring regional sales objectives are met by coaching each team member to a level of consistent attainment of sales quotas. 
  • Provides supervisory level leadership and direction to the assigned team of field sales personnel
  • Works one-on-one with sales representatives for the purpose of  practicing and techniques learned in classroom or meeting settings
  • Facilitates peer-to-peer coaching sessions, where appropriate
  • Monitors individual and group DSR goals through in-field evaluations.  Provides coaching, as needed
  • Ensures representatives have current and appropriate marketing materials, competitive updates and printed sales aids at all times
  • Identifies additional training/coaching needs for individual representatives to assist them in reaching their goals and quotas.
  • Makes recommendations for enhancements to training curriculum based on needs assessment from field evaluations
  • Provides technical support to deployed DSRs, as needed
  • Determines schedule for and conducts check-in for sales representatives
  • Validates sales/accountability reports through field audit
  • Maintains performance statistics for all assigned representatives and prepares daily, weekly and monthly sales reports
  • Tracks incentives, both in-house and vendor generated, and provides requisite reporting of same to insure prizes/awards are awarded as agreed
  • Keeps accurate records of assigned employee PTO and insures accuracy of  MyTime timecards
  • Compiles commission discrepancies and forwards in a timely manner to Sales Coordinator.
  • Participates and conducts New Hire training
  • Resolves escalations  to customer’s satisfaction
  • Conducts weekly sales meetings
  • Performs other duties and accepts responsibility as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • May sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Communicates on the telephone, in person and through written correspondence and/or email. 
  • Frequently works outside in heat, cold and inclement weather. 
  • Considerable drive time required, often daily
  • Non-standard hours that require hours Monday through Saturday as assigned
  • Will travel throughout assigned sales region within the Tampa Florida Division and to DSR territories.
  • May travel to vendor locations and other locations when attending company sponsored events or meetings.

Required Experience


  • College degree or equivalent work experience. 
  • 2 to 5 years experience as a Direct Sales representative plus direct marketing supervisory experience with a proven track record in a related field.
