The Hospitality Operations and Capital Analyst will assist the Director of Corporate Lodging Operations with analysis of lodging capital planning. This person will manage a variety of items associated with the capital process and hotel operations. This person will assist with compiling and analyzing lodging capital budgets/financials/statistics, create numerous summary reports to distribute to various levels of the organization; to better assess the capital financial state of the division; and performing operational analyses to help drive divisional efficiencies. Data is compared to forecast/budget and prior year. Reporting on capital is compiled weekly, after month end, quarter end and year end. Must quickly adapt to changing priorities and multiple tasks as priorities are realigned. Must have good internal customer skills.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Multi-level Project Management and presentation experience required.
  • Support the Corporate and Lodging teams on all routine and ad hoc reports related to hospitality capital for our division, and also on requests from Corporate Financial Planning, and Corporate Accounting.
  • Analysis of financial results for capital projects, tracking of projects and trends on a daily/weekly/quarterly/annual basis.
  • Assist in the preparation comparisons of property assets, review capital requests, prepare and assist properties with preparing ROI projects and opportunities across the portfolio (owned and managed).
  • Perform operational reviews with the Director of Operations to help analyze our portfolio’s operations to help drive operating and financial efficiencies. Run operational analytics on an as needed and requested basis.
  • Create monthly operational reports.
  • Create and distribute the Monthly Capital Forecasting report.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to all internal parties.
  • The analyst will be involved in the capital process for the division in the following specific capacities:
    • Review proposed capital packets to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance to the company’s capital policy. Find errors and make suggestions as needed.
    • Tracking of open capital packets, monitoring capital project status, and facilitating the closeout process to ensure the proper asset detail is accounted for in a timely fashion.
    • Assist in the organization of capital property walk through activities and the fall budgeting process.
    • Assist in the estimating of future capital requirements.
    • Participate in tracking the company’s energy goals and creating real time monthly dashboards in excel to be reported to the company’s hospitality leadership team monthly.
  • Support Operations as needed

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or related field – required
  • 1 year minimum experience in financial analysis – preferred
  • 1 year minimum experience with Project Management – required
  • Intermediate Excel skills – required
  • Intermediate skills in Word and Power Point – required
  • Ability to read, speak and understand English
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Hospitality finance experience – preferred
  • Vail Resorts Property experience – preferred
