The Returns Associate I is an entry-level position with directed work according to a documented series of events. The position is primarily responsible for maintaining set productivity standards throughout the work day including meeting predetermined goals for quality and productivity. 

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One year previous experience using a computer

 

SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Must have strong written, verbal and typing skills
  • Sufficient visual acuity to detect abnormalities in product
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

 REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to operate a pallet jack loaded with receivers.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works in/ near moving mechanical parts and in a non-temperature controlled work environment.   • Opens and sorts numerous boxes (includes removing required documentation from outside of boxes)
  • Sort plastic, cardboard, foam and paper into different bins/conveyors for recycling or disposal
  • Remove items from conveyors and sort based on pictures and/or training
  • Palletizes and removes empty boxes & foam containers from area
  • Completes shipping/receiving paperwork
  • Handles and records all products to company requirement and standards
  • Visually inspects products for defects, issues or cosmetic failures
  • Follows instructions to perform pre-determined tests on products
  • Physically move product throughout the Returns floor as needed
  • Unload inbound boxes from trucks and/or pallets
  • Build boxes for packing
  • Use of electric or manual pallet jack
  • Ensure that production and quality standards are met by verifying the tracking numbers and warranty information for products
  • Ensure that LEAN/5S and safety standards are maintained
