Aerotek is currently hiring two Electrical Engineers to design power systems. Our client is a leading provider of data center solutions and resources, located in Northern Virginia. They design, build, operate, monitor and maintain business-critical facilities for some of the most data-reliant private and public sector organizations in the world. We are hiring two engineers to design these power systems.
Minimum requirements include:
- BS in Electrical Engineering; currently holding EIT or PE status
- 2+ years experience performing load calculations and detailed design of power/lighting systems for commercial buildings
- 2+ years experience working on commercial, government, medical, educational or historic buildings
- Ability to perform CAD drafting preferred
Job duties include the following:
- Generating single line drawings, layouts, schedules, routing, distribution and motor control schemes, as well as inter connection diagrams for power, lighting and grounding systems.
- Reviewing and checking drawings to ensure that the designs meet the technical needs of the client and adhere to industry standards for reliability and safety
- Reviewing and interpreting power system studies such as load flows, short circuits, coordination and arc flash using ETAP and SKM programs
- Selecting electrical equipment suitable for hazardous areas
- Performing design for lighting and power distribution panels
- Design lighting layout
- Develop electrical riser diagrams and sizing equipment, feeders, etc. They will also be doing lay out drawings showing how the equipment will be put together.
