As a key member of the Analyst team, you will be part of UnitedHealth Group's mission of helping people live healthier lives. The business analyst is responsible for the vital link between information technology capabilities and the company’s business objectives. This position will work with various teams within the organization to gather, organize and define requirements to solve problems and deliver effective solutions to complex business challenges. Primary Responsibilities:

Gather business requirements using UML, process flows and use cases
Create written business requirement documentation for healthcare EDI transactions processing system (backend processing for claims, eligibility, referrals)
Review requirements with team and create user stories with acceptance criteria

Work with the delivery team for clarifications, questions and acceptance
Understand customer needs to translate those to the delivery team

Act as a liaison between delivery team and business

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Health Administration or equivalent work experience
2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
2+ years of experience gathering requirements from the client/business and documenting those requirements

2+ years of experience consolidating business needs into requirements documents
Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
1+ years of experience demonstrating understanding of technology capabilities and limitations
Ability to communicate analysis including trends and opportunities to clients and the business verbally and in writing
Ability to problem solve including multiple priorities and research conflicting and/or inaccurate data
  
Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of interfaces, API and ANSI x12 transactions

Health insurance or healthcare experience
Working knowledge of relational databases and database structures
Agile methodology experience
