Description:

The Infusion RN will work in the outpatient infusion center which specializes in Oncology, and will assume clinical responsibility for patients. The Infusion RN will be responsible for performing symptom assessments and will provide drug and side effect education to the oncology patients in addition to a subset of non-oncology patients. The RN will be responsible for the safe administration of varied chemotherapeutic agents, supportive medications, blood products, as well as non-oncology treatments. The RN will collaborate with the physicians and nurses in the oncology office within the Cancer center to coordinate care to effectively manage patients symptoms and complications , and will evaluate and refer for psychosocial services.

Requirements:

• Current and active NJ RN licensure required
• BSN degree preferred or current matriculation in an accredited BSN program
• BLS certification required
• IV and Chemotherapy certification required
• Oncology nursing experience required, Outpatient oncology experience preferred.
• National Oncology certification preferred
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong nursing assessment skills
• Outcome and goal oriented
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Flexibility and adaptability
Minimum one (1) year of recent/current experience in area of Oncology specialty required
Sucessful completion of required orientation and competencies.
Additional certifications may be required
Additional experience/training may be required based on departmental specific needs
