Prep Cook, 40 Carrots Restaurant Park Time: Bloomingdale's The Mall at Short Hills, NJ - Full-time / Part-time

Job Overview:
Bloomingdale's, Like No Other Store In The World, is seeking an experienced Restaurant Prep Cook. If you are enthusiastic about pursuing a career in the restaurant business and would like to prepare fun and creative food for our upscale clientele, we might be just the place for you.

Essential Job Functions:

• Follow production lists
• Prepare raw ingredients into finished product, per specifications.
• Put away stock and maintain stock area
• Maintain work area and equipment in accordance with sanitation guidelines and Health Department standards
• Ensure quality and visual presentation of food produced meets established standards
• Maintain personal hygiene and uniform to Food Division standards.
• Maintain work area for safety and sanitation
• Assist other associates to ensure all kitchen duties are completed within given time constraints
• Assist in order preparation
• Suggest new food items
• Assist with special events
• Assist in serving customers in high volume periods

Qualifications:

• One year related food preparation experience preferred
• Ability to follow direction
• Ability to follow a recipe
• Ability to work with standard kitchen equipment in efficient and safe manner
• Ability to work safely in fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends, extended hours and key event days
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities and learn new procedures
• A team player who possesses the ability to work in a learning environment
• Prior Restaurant industry experience preferred
