Sourcing & Procurement Consultant Sourcing & Procurement (IT) will execute based on the Category Management Plan and streamline the handling of IT Software ordering and renewals across UnitedHealth Group entities.  In addition, the Sourcing Procurement Consultant, Sourcing & Procurement (IT) will deliver value to customers; communicate effectively; drive sound, disciplined decisions, and drive high-quality execution.  We are looking for a proven professional who is a self-starter and will successfully deliver on initiatives that will often have broad and meaningful impact on the business.   
  
Primary Responsibilities: 

Support technology strategies for IT Software Maintenance renewals; manage supplier performance programs; review, coordinate and execute transactions in P2P or contract system that comply with enterprise supplier purchasing and contracting processes
Execute negotiation and sourcing strategies related to assigned IT Software portfolio to ensure accurate contract renewals and supplier invoicing and ensure supplier compliance with contract terms and conditions and pricing.  Interact regularly with the Supplier, Contract, IT, Finance and Asset Management teams to ensure all assets are properly supported through their lifecycle in the most cost effective way.  Provide transaction support and analysis for complex software negotiations
Understand and analyze global enterprise supply chain strategies with major technology vendors, and applicable business owner/commodity area strategies in accordance with overall business and financial goals.  Understand and evaluate new supplier acquisitions; determine contractual and financial impact to enterprise product portfolios. Understand and integrate UHG enterprise mergers/acquisitions into supplier lifecycle policies and procedures
Evaluate and understand supplier consolidation and product optimization strategies, opportunities to leverage supplier spend (including, but not limited to, re-sourcing and re-negotiation of on-going supplier relationships), and cost savings opportunities; and leverage Ariba and financial platforms (Procure-to-Pay, Sourcing and Contracting) to drive process efficiencies, analyze supplier spend portfolios and reduce costs; make appropriate recommendations; and execute and maintain the same
Develop relationships with applicable stakeholders, including executive level individuals, across the enterprise to drive support of the sourcing and procurement value proposition, consistent, high-quality delivery of procurement programs and initiatives
The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to succeed in a high demand multi-tasking environment and have the ability to successfully navigate through ambiguities/difficult obstacles using facts, alternatives identification, open-mindedness, and thought-through strategy

Requirements


Required Qualifications: 

3+ years of progressive experience in software license renewal management
Experience leading projects in a cross-functional team environment involving IT Software category
Experience working in a role where organizational, project management and communication (written and verbal) skills
Experience working with Ariba e-Procurement tool; utilizing Procure-to-Pay and Contracting modules (or similar procurement systems)
Experience using strong analytical skills to review financial data or licensing information
Experience articulating and consulting on vendor proposals to garner support from various levels of business and procurement leadership
Experience using MS Excel to filter, sort, and manipulate data
Preferred Qualifications:  

CPSM, CPM or equivalent certification
Strong understanding of IT Software Licensing
