Optometric AssistantCustomer-service oriented Optometric Assistant position is available! Our team members have positive, winning attitudes and work well with others. Our practice opportunity is for those friendly, flexible, organized individuals. As an Optometric Assistant, your responsibilities may include prescreening patients using the latest technology, patient work-ups, assisting the Doctors in the exam room with the exam and translating and accurately documenting patient records. Optical experience is not necessary; we will train the right person; customer service experience is necessary! Essential Duties:1.Maintains records, schedules appointments, correspondence.2.Prepares patient for vision examination.3.Assists in testing for near and far acuity, depth perception, macula integrity, color perception, and visual field.4.Instructs patient in care and use of glasses or contact lenses.5.Ensures that exam rooms are tidied between patients and cleans equipment. 6.Performs accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks.7.Monitors and maintains a smooth patient flow, ensuring the exam rooms are always full. 8.Performs other work as needed or required by the Office Manager or Optometrist.Job Requirements:1.Education/Experience- High School diploma or equivalent.2.Certificates and Licenses: Certified Paraoptometric (CPO) optional.3.Math Ability- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, and percentages.
