Medical Assistant and Receptionist

This position will provide both clinical and clerical support to The Teen Clinic NP, Health Counselors and behavioral health staff, allowing for effective patient care.

Clinical responsibilities are but not limited to: setting up exam rooms, running controls, performing vital signs per protocol, performing and recording findings for lab tests such as urine dips and rapid streps; venipuncture; collecting, processing, storing and transporting specimens as needed; stocking and cleaning rooms as well as assisting providers with exam.

Clerical responibilities will include but not limited to: entering scheduled appointments into our computer system, verify elegibility using Passport system, completing registration effectively and efficiently according to established policies in order to result in clean claim submission, especially HSN Confidential. Performing data entry for a DPH Database. Collecting data as needed; scanning; handling all calls and walk-ins appropriately and courteously and communicating effectively with all.

High School Diploma required. Medical Assistant certificate required. Must have three years experience in an ambulatory setting doing medical reception work and as a medical assistant. Experience with EPIC highly desirable. Bi-lingual skills - Spanish, Portuguese or Haitian Creole preferred. Ability to work independently and as a team is required.  Must be particularly in tune to the needs and characteristics of teens, have good communication with them and support providing contraception for this population.

May be asked to cover the other teen sites if there is a staffing crisis. Staff are furloughed for six weeks in the Summer unpaid and clinic is closed for all school vacation.
