Description

The overall purpose of this position, i.e., what it accomplishes at Perdue and/or why it exists is: Assess medical needs of associates & provide first aid or referral as necessary; maintain federal, state & company record keeping for OSHA and workers' compensation; review medical history & complete physical assessment sheet, & other required forms; assist with medical cost management; complete other tasks as needed in compliance with company policies

1. Administer medical care for work related or non-work related illnesses, following appropriate algorithm, or medical directives or accepted nursing standards, referring cases to physicians as needed. Document information. Enter data in PeopleSoft and OHM. Inform nursing supervisor as appropriate.

2. Perform physicals after reviewing history information with associate; complete information on physical forms, and other forms as appropriate. .Complete termination files; assist with drug screens, TB skin testing, wellness programs, etc.

3. . Assist with medical cost management by early intervention in care of associates with constant follow up; order medical supplies as needed; follow up on medical LOA's to reduce time away from work.

4. Knowledge of MLOA system, processing of physician's notes; documentation as required.

5. Assist staff with systems for health improvement of associates at the facility, i.e. participation in and support with HIP.

This position spends 1 0 % of a normal workweek supervising other Associates.

This position spends 1 0 % of a normal workweek training and developing other Associates.

This position spends 20 % of a normal workweek performing technical analyses and writing reports.

This position spends 60 % of a normal workweek in production or maintenance-related activities.

Specialized or technical knowledge, credentials or licensing required for the position include:

Current, active and unrestricted license for professional nursing in the state of practice.

Certification in CPR required within 6 months of employment.

Good verbal & written communication skills.

The minimum number of Years and/or Months of Prior and Related experience preferred to be considered for this position is:

1 Year

Medical office management experience; supervisory experience.

Minimum Formal Education preferred : Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or college program.

The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following:

Must be able to see, touch, smell and record findings in writing. Be able to respond to all areas of the complex as needed. Although the majority of work is done in an office/clinic environment, there is also exposure to variable inter-facility and external environmental conditions, such as: noise levels, changes in temperature, humidity, etc. Must have ability to move throughout the processing plant and surrounding environments.. Must wear PPE as required.
