A privately-held pipeline company with assets in Western US and Gulf Coast focused on acquiring, upgrading and operating existing crude oil pipelines is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join their team in Long Beach.

The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the Company's compliance with applicable local, state and federal regulations while identifying and mitigating risks related to the Company's assets. It assists activities in the regulatory compliance functions, including but not limited to the following: DOT pipeline safety, incident investigation, management of change processing and coordination of manual reviews.

Duties:

  • Evaluates and makes recommendations for the Regulatory compliance functions including but not limited to permits and regulatory compliance monitoring while adhering to local, state and federal regulations
  • Ongoing compliance with regards to Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (DOT/PHMSA), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) and the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (LADNR)
  • Assists and supports audits to ensure compliance
  • Interface with governmental agencies Assist with the upkeep of permits, business plans and filing of regulatory reports

Qualification's:

  • B. S. in Business or related field
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Compliance, as it relates to the HAZMAT Liquid Pipeline Industry with 3-5 years of experience
  • Working knowledge of DOT, PHMSA, BLM, BSEE and LADNR requirements
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Projects
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound recommendations and project plans that secure the continuing safe and compliant operation of the business
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (training, presentation, team collaboration and communication), with the ability to influence others
