Restaurant Manager - Full-time / Part-time

Job Description

• Ability to communicate the culture and expectations of American Girl to the restaurant customers, both internal and external.
  
• The ability to provide strong leadership and flexibility, able to juggle a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: monitoring service standards and food quality, ensuring safety standards are upheld, resolving customer issues and personnel issues, overseeing the restaurant operation and its relationship within the store, and leading the ongoing development of new concepts and programs to promote the restaurant.
  
• Must create and deliver an exceptional dining experience for the restaurant and party guests.
  
• Ability to graciously handle customer issues and requests and train restaurant staff accordingly.
  
• Must possess a calm and rational disposition to manage high volume.
  
• Must have the ability to manage both FOH and BOH staff in a multicultural environment while exhibiting both analytical and creative skills.
  
• Must possess strong skills in both the dining room and in kitchen operations, leading the day to day operations.
  
• Must possess strong culinary skills and ability to execute recipes to specifications.
  
• Has proficiency in the use of kitchen equipment and troubleshooting operational issues.
  
• Ability to manage restaurant vendor accounts which include daily contact to order restaurant supplies and food/beverage supplies ensuring the best price and quality.
  
• Ability to support and work cohesively with the Restaurant and Store Management teams to deliver exceptional events and programs.
  
• May be required to perform diverse physical tasks. Receiving and storing weekly supply deliveries may require some heavy lifting, approximately 30-50 pounds, transporting full bus tubs that weigh up to 30 pounds. Constant standing and walking and exposed to a loud working environment.
  
• Hazards include, but are not limited to: food borne pathogens, hazardous chemicals, slips, trips, falls, cuts, burns, and stains.
  

Experience, Education & Skills

• Bachelor's degree from a reputable four-year institution, culinary school, or comparable experience preferred.
  
• Management position experience with high volume and fast paced environment with both front and back of house operations exposure.
  
• Experience working with children is desired.
  
• Computer skills required for Microsoft Word, Excel, restaurant reservation systems, POS systems, inventory systems, and basic office equipment (copiers/fax).
  
• Strong customer service background required.
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  
• Work schedule requires evening and weekend work.
