The Consumer Solutions Group within Optum is seeking a self-motivated, data drive  Product Director to grow our Medicaid Clinical Services business. This individual will be highly analytical and thrive in a team-based, heavily matrixed environment.
 
As the Product Director, you will be vital to our success and drive the future growth.
You will be accountable for developing advanced analytic capabilities that support product development and member strategies for care coordination, disease management programs and quality management programs in the Medicaid market.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Program Performance & Improvement:

Monitor program performance, including affordability and cost trends for C&S health plans
Ensure programs achieve key metrics and program goals, including affordability targets, membership retention and growth
Identify gaps relative to clinical performance, identifying partnership opportunities and improvement action plans
Proactively identify and achieve savings opportunities and operational improvements
Perform adhoc analyses and interpret results to inform clinical and financial decision making
Create compelling presentations with data visualizations to communicate insights to product team members and executive stakeholders
Design and implement repeatable processes for reporting and analysis
Initiating, conducting and synthesizing disparate data to identify business implication, opportunities and recommendations.
Leverage data to facilitates / influences changes to product portfolio to improve competitive position and optimal product performance
Relationship Management:

Provides subject matter expertise in areas including product development, clinical design, program specifications, and staffing projections
Partnering with the Healthcare Analytics team to test assumptions, model new reports and dashboards, and design studies to show value of programs
Work closely with Finance, Health Care Economics, Data Analytics and Product and Operations to monitor all investment levers
Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
Navigate and influence multiple cross-functional teams in a complex, matrix work environment, including influencing senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and / or approaches
 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience
3+ years of Product Management / Product development experience
Proficiency with MS Office applications
Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a matrix environment
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence others
Proficient in interpreting and analyzing data to support decision making
Experience with effectively presenting to Senior Management
Proven organizational skills with ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity
Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel, Power Point Skills and Word skills
Demonstrated ability to prioritize projects and deliverables
Ability to think and act strategically, and as well as execute tactically with bias toward action
Ability to travel,  25%
Preferred Qualifications:

Strong background and / or understanding of the healthcare industry, clinical care management experience
Experience with special Medicaid populations, including LTSS, ABD, SMI, DD, Foster Care, preferred
Proven results in building programs that improve quality and HEDIS metrics
Product development, product management, operational or financial strategy development experience within a matrix organization
Ability to manage projects simultaneously and achieve goals
Excellent follow through, attention to detail, and time management skills
Strong interpersonal skills; Brings an ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of individuals at all levels of the organization
