Full-Time. Located in Kona.

PURPOSE STATEMENT: The purpose of this position is to install TWC products and services such as
cable television, high-speed internet service, digital phone service, intelligent home security service,
wireless service, and perform routine drop related troubleshooting on the Island of Hawaii.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position reports directly to the Supervisor/Foreman Installation
Technician and to the Manager, Technical Operations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs all duties such as: connects and disconnects of cable and pay television services, and/or
broadband services and/or digital phone services as well as performs upgrades, downgrades, prewiring
and multiple dwelling installations.
ï‚· Applies basic knowledge of electronics, installation techniques and repairs.
ï‚· Applies working knowledge and demonstrates proficiency in the use of various tools and
equipment.
ï‚· Utilizes equipment and tools. These include but are not limited to: screwdrivers, pliers,
ladders, drills, shovels, and various test meters.
2. Conducts monitoring and documentation in compliance with systems ongoing leakage program.
ï‚· Utilizes and applies working knowledge of CLI monitoring equipment to detect and
document system leakage to be in compliance with FCC and DCCA requirements.
ï‚· Operates signal leakage equipment.
3. Maintains and stocks necessary materials and tools for company vehicle.
ï‚· Maintains assigned Company vehicle in compliance with all company policies and
requirements.
ï‚· Organizes materials, tools and equipment utilizing thorough knowledge of materials needed
to maintain plant system.
ï‚· Able to lift and carry up-to seventy-five (75) pounds.
4. Recognizes, practices and enforces safety rules and procedures when performing installation
tasks.
ï‚· Applies knowledge of safety rules and procedures, wears safety apparel including hard hat,
proper footwear, safety belt, and any necessary safety equipment where and when required.
ï‚· Reports all unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries verbally and in writing, to Foreman.

5. Completes all installation and CLI required documentation and work orders utilizing good written
skills.
ï‚· Assures all related forms, reports, logs and other task required documentation is completed
with all necessary information. Submits all work orders, reports, logs and other
documentation in a timely manner complying with all system policies and procedures.

6. Recognize and comply with all safety policies of the company and federal/state regulations.
ï‚· Able to operate all equipment in compliance with federal and state regulations.
ï‚· Able to work in constricted spaces and positions involving crouching, squatting and/or
kneeling.
ï‚· Agility to climb up and down ladders and/or gaff poles.

7. Regular attendance is required.

OTHER DUTIES:

1. Sells additional services and/or products to subscribers.
ï‚· Utilizes verbal, written and interpersonal communication to sell services and products.
ï‚· Utilizes working knowledge of cable products, programming choices and prices.

2. Performs other duties as assigned.
HUMAN RELATIONS: Has extensive contact with technical and office personnel, customers, and the
general public. Has no supervisory responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous electronic
experience or coursework and customer service experience highly preferred. Successful completion of
Qualified Installer Program, General Safety Course, and Pole Climbing Certification to be completed
within 90 days of employment. Stable employment history.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to familiarize themselves with OSHA, FCC, State of
Hawaii and TWE regulations and specifications, National Electric Codes related to installation of CATV
facilities and equipment within 90 days. Must have a valid Hawaii driver’s license and an acceptable
driving record.

Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and
procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of
customers or employees of organization. Able to calculate figures and perform basic arithmetic. Able to
solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited
standardization exists. Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or
schedule form; must be able to read maps. Have basic knowledge of using various computers, laptops, or
handheld devices.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Company vehicle (with valid Hawaii driver’s license),
various size tools and equipment. These include but are not limited to: screwdrivers, pliers, shovels,
ladders, test meters, laptop computer, cellular phone, leakage detection equipment, etc., and may operate
company bucket truck.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds, digging, crawling, stooping, and
standing. Climbing on ladders. May be assigned to gaff utility poles. Must be under the maximum
bodyweight limit to meet ladder requirements in accordance with Company’s and manufacturer’s
specifications. Works outside throughout the year. Works in various weather and conditions which could
be extreme hot or cold conditions. May drive for long periods of time.
