As the project manager, you will be responsible for evaluating UHC’s efforts to both improve the quality and reduce the cost of health care for our members. You will be responsible for development, implementation, execution and ongoing project management of clinical care management and disease management initiatives, and practice transformation and other affordability initiatives, all of which are aimed at improving health plan HEDIS scores, mitigation of potentially preventable events (PPEs) and medical expense management.

You will make solid recommendations based on the analysis and provide explanations for reporting results for both internal and external stakeholders. You must be self-directed and creative as you will deal with some very interesting and complex issues. As a key resource to others you must maintain a high degree of accuracy along with attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to always meet deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Participates in all meetings related to pay for quality program, workgroups on quality improvement and specific clinical care management initiatives, practice transformation initiatives; and other meetings as assigned;
• Coordinates, leads, and completes projects across various functional areas;
• Navigate a challenging matrix environment, lead multi-faceted and multi-functional teams with a strong ability to problem solve and lead and motivate others in problem resolution
• Will work directly with plan Director, Project Management & Analytics, Chief Medical Officer, Senior Quality Director, Health Services Directors, and Chief Financial Officer
• Responsible for assessing & documenting business process, workflows, SOPs for expansions of existing business, and/or training documents
• Document and identify gaps in the process - provide findings to project team and present potential alternative solutions as appropriate
• Creates clear and concise written and oral communication, including presentations to management, that details project status, risks, issues, scope and timeline
• Ensures projects are completed on time and in scope.
• Provides subject matter expertise in areas including project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, facilitation, and other areas of expertise based on established project management techniques
• Research and report out on technical issues
• Build trust and form effective relationships with stakeholders
• Delivers in-service training for other teams as appropriate to ensure thorough understanding of programs, goals and objectives

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration, Business, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of Non-IT related Healthcare Project Management experience to include experience in tracking, planning projects, working with Healthcare data sets and making data-driven analytical decisions.
• Must be willing and able to work in the Sugar Land, Texas office.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
• SharePoint, WebEx and MS Project
• Clinical, compliance and/or implementation project experience.
• Working towards or have achieved PMP Certification and Six Sigma certification.
• Project Management in Health Insurance Industry.
• Previous experience and demonstrated knowledge of risk adjustment methodologies, Healthcare quality (HEDIS and STARS), Medicaid and government programs.
