About this job

Dog lovers and animal enthusiasts are needed to fill several Part-Time Kennel Technician positions in a thriving daycare and boarding facility.  While various aspects of cleaning make up the majority of the job, the best part is being able to play with the pack while supervising Doggy Daycare- who doesn't want to be surrounded by dogs?  Split shifts allow for a leisurely lunch or siesta.

Job Responsibilities
  • CLEANING!  Lots and lots of cleaning.  While this obviously includes simple tasks like washing dishes, sweeping, and doing laundry, this aspect of the work predominantly involves scrubbing: floors, walls, chain link, turf, etc.  Expect a workout.
  • Supervising Daycare:  This is both the best and most difficult part of being a Kennel Tech.  Monitoring behavior and body language in a group setting can be challenging, but there is no better therapy than being outside, in the middle of furry playtime.  Having a bad day?  Go get hugs and kisses from the whole pack.
  • Feeding and medicating:  Attention to detail is key.  Some of our four-legged friends have very specific dietary needs and complicated medication instructions.  There is absolutely no room for error here.
  • Grooming:  Many of our guests regularly receive baths and/or nail clips.  This typically isn't an every day occurrence, but everyone on the team takes their turn.
  • Team work, communication, and adaptability:  Our job, day in and day out, is to make sure that every single dog is cared for to the best of our ability.  Being able to effectively communicate and work cohesively allows us to provide the highest quality of care in a rapidly changing environment.

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Reliable transportation
  • Availability to work weekends and all major holidays
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30lbs and spend long periods of time on one's feet
Please provide a cover letter detailing your experiences with dogs and why you think we should hire you.  Creativity is welcomed!
