JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for managing the overall operations of the restaurant. By serving as a role model, the General Manager engages Team Members in providing the "Rusty Taco Experience".  Also responsible for overall restaurant profitability and P&L targets, Team Member attraction and retention, community engagement, and all aspects of restaurant operations.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overall responsibility for restaurant performance including supervising food quality, ordering, inventory, scheduling, development and training, cash management, and store maintenance
  • High level of interaction with restaurant Guests and Team Members to ensure the "Rusty Taco Experience" is consistently delivered to build guest loyalty
  • Manages the staff scheduling of restaurant to ensure consistent execution of guest service and restaurant operations
  • Responsible for sourcing, hiring,  engagement, performance reviews, and retention of Team Members
  • Coordinates and facilitates training and development of Team Members
  • Responsible for implementing programs for Team Member recognition
  • Works with local philanthropic causes
  • Creates and maintains open communication with Managers and Team Members in the restaurant

OTHER  JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Builds camaraderie, and solicits feedback; communicates effectively with all Managers and Team Members
  • Aggressivelymanages waste, comps, voids and discounts
  • Ensures training programs are followed for Team Members in new positions
  • Conducts administrative manager functions as needed (entering invoices, end of day procedures, etc.).
  • Maintains high cleanliness standards and holds Managers and Team Members accountable for adherence to daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules
  • Assists in the rollout of new company programs, policies and procedures as requested
  • Utilizes all compliance systems, manager tools and procedures both in a timely manner, and with integrity lincludlng but not limited to restroom checks, ticket times, line checks to ensure proper shift execution and efficient operations; addresses and corrects areas of opportunity immediately
  • Ensures adherence and compliance to ServSafeAlcohol, Food Safety and HACCP standards
  • Responsible for food cost within budget
  • Responsible for labor management within  budget
  • Effectively resolves guest complaints with a sense of urgency
  • Monitors all preventive maintenance needed in the the restaurant. When needed, assigns repairs to appropriate areas and communicates issues with Director of Operations
  • lnsures all menu recipes are being adhered to
  • Informs Director of Operations of any and all Manager and Team Member relations issues, especially potentially concerning discrimination or harassment
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of Team Member Engagement
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of Team Member Retention

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Four plus years prior professional experience in restaurant management required, or equivalent  experience
  • Must possess proper food handlers and alcohol dispensing certifications  (if required by law)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must satisfactorily pass background check
  • Strong people management, communication and listening skills
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to change
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and a passion for coaching others
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to read and comprehend written materials, write in grammatically correct sentences, and perform basicto intermediate mathematical computations
  • Work as a contributing member of a team
  • Knowledge of labor laws, health codes, safe food handling and sanitation, responsible alcohol service, safety and security systems and procedures, computer operations

Preferred

  • Bachelor Degree.
  • Coursework in restaurant management
  • Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager or General Manager
