The Sales Support Manager role is focused on enhancing the experience of our customers and driving sales through: providing proactive support to both customers and associates, executing the merchandise and sales floor presentation standards, facilitating the flow of merchandise to the sales floor, maintaining price and inventory integrity, completing event/seasonal set-ups, department flex set-ups and creating promotional dominance, customer service at Point of Sale (POS).

Job Duties:

  • Leads by example to set a customer-focused environment for entire team
  • Observes the Support Team customer interaction and provides coaching and training as necessary
  • Personally understands and teaches signals for help and how to respond immediately to support customers
  • Reviews sales performance daily and immediately reacts to opportunities and deficiencies
  • Trains and coaches team on merchandising, visual presentation and customer service tactics that will enhance sales
  • Reviews and understands competitive activities and trends in local market and identifies unique local market opportunities
  • Coaches and trains the Support Team on merchandise standards and their impact on sales and customer service
  • Ensures line changes are (seasonal, typical, special projects) planned and flawlessly executed
  • Adjust presentations based on sell through and ensure price and sign accuracy
  • Shopabilty & inventory control guidelines are in place throughout the day to make shopping easy for our customers
  • Walks the sales floor to make adjustments that ensure each department is easy to shop, clean and organized for our customers
  • Coordinates the placement of new merchandise to the sales floor in a timely fashion
  • Utilizes the scan and fill process to replenish the sales floor and avoid out-of-stock situations and to achieve maximum in-stock perception
  • Completes inventory counts and records inventory adjustments accurately
  • Executes promotional ad set-up and take-down without error or omission
  • Completes Price Change Notifications (PCN) on a timely and accurate basis
  • Accurate pricing of inactive and/or “991” merchandise
  • Supports the Assistant Store Manager (ASM) in developing a high performance team by assisting in the scheduling, training, coaching and supervising of the Sales Support associates as directed
  • Participates in ongoing recruitment and interviews with job applicants and provides input during the selection process
  • Reviews the Associate Contribution Report (ACR) daily and assists the ASM in identifying opportunities for performance improvement at a department and associate level
  • Assists ASM as directed with communications to associates about upcoming events, product updates, selling process requirements and Company/business initiatives
  • Assists in resolving customer issues and complaints; Escalates issues to ASM as necessary
  • Fosters a team environment
  • Carries keys and performs store opening and closing activities
  • Follows all applicable laws, regulations and company policies
  • Performs other duties as assigned
