Providence is calling a Registered Nurse -- Clinical Nurse Specialist -- Perioperative Services (1.0 FTE, Variable) to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) who is an expert clinician in perioperative nursing with expertise in teaching, mentoring, consulting, research, management and systems improvement. The clinical nurse specialist influences outcomes by providing expert consultation to all care providers and by implementing improvements in health care delivery systems.

In this position you will:

* Conduct comprehensive, holistic wellness and illness assessment using known or innovative evidence-based techniques, tools, and direct and indirect methods

* Use independent judgment, effectively recommending and/or taking action related to hiring, evaluating performance, disciplinary action and employee complaints and concerns

* Demonstrate ability to manage change and empower others to influence clinical practice and political processes both within and across systems

* Direct patient, staff or system-focused interaction between professionals in which the consultant is recognized as having specialized expertise and assists consultee with problem-solving

* Work jointly with others to optimize clinical outcomes through collaboration, engagement and constructive problem solving

* Utilize skillful guidance and teaching to advance the care of patients, families, groups of patients and the profession of nursing

* Serve as researcher by performing the work of thorough and systematic inquiry

* Serve as a resource in ethical decision making, moral agent and advocacy

Required qualifications for this position include:

* Master's Degree, post-master's, or doctorate from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) OR will complete this program within 18 months of hire with eligibility to sit for CNS certification examination in perioperative services

* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

* Minimum of three (3) years registered nursing experience in perioperative services

* Current RN license in the State of Washington

* Current certification as a CNS. If certification exam in clinical specialty is not available, all requirements except this bullet are required. Each year employee must demonstrate that certification exam in specialty is not currently available

* Current specialty certification

* BLS, ACLS, PALS

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

* Two (2) years of clinical leadership responsibility
