Position Summary:
Responsibilities: Mayo Clinic Health System in Bloomer, Wisconsin is looking for an Emergency Department (ED) EDT for our high demand level IV trauma-designated ED. As a CALS (Comprehensive Advanced Life Support) hospital in Wisconsin, we offer comprehensive care to all of our patients.
We have a regionally modeled ED staffed by dedicated Emergency Providers 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. We have access to the region's only level II trauma center in Eau Claire, WI and to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN through the state-of-the art technology of Telemedicine and Tele-Stroke. We care for patients of all ages who are in need of emergency medical treatment. In addition we serve patient with urgent care needs.
The ED team consists of one RN, a provider, and one EDT (EMT). Working directly with skilled providers to care for our sickest patients, the EDTs in the ED experience a steady flow of patients throughout their shift and have the opportunity to help patients anywhere in the hospital.
Our EDTs are critical to the well-being of our patients and have key roles in the Emergency Department's performance as well as quality improvement. Successful EDTs in our department are dedicated to these initiatives, dynamic, and adaptable in our fast paced environment.
Qualifications: Minimum EMT-Basic license. Current BLS certification.
Additional Qualifications: One year of experience as EMT preferred. One year acute care hospital experience, preferred. High school graduate or equivalent, preferred. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Basic computer knowledge. Decision making and problem solving skills, spoken and written communication skills, and team building skills. Ability to perform duties in a self directed manner.

Exemption Status: Non-exempt
Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $14.46 per hour.
Hours/Pay Period: 48 hours per two week pay period
Schedule Details: This position will be scheduled 48 hours in 2 weeks which will include every third weekend (Fri, Sat and Sun) 6 am - 6pm.
Must have the availability to cover 6 pm - 6 am shifts and work above status to meet the needs of the department.
Weekend Schedule: Every third weekend (Fri-Sat-Sun).
