Responsibilities: Supports the care team by performing basic patient cares and non-clinical functions such as: Order entry, form completion, prior authorization, panel management, faxing, equipment cleaning, room cleaning/stocking, monitoring supply inventory/expiration dates, and other duties as assigned. Functions as a team member and displays professionalism while interacting with patients, families and co-workers. Demonstrates strong organizational skills, initiative, proficiency, and good judgement to optimize the use of the care team's time and maintain a smooth work flow. Exibits appropriate use of telecommunications equipment and uses computer efficiently. Strong communication skills and a commitment to quality and excellence are important components of this role. Maintains regulatory requirements and follows system policies, procedures and standards.

Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Two years of customer service experience.

Additional Qualifications:

Successful completion of HUC vocational program or Medical Assistant certification preferred. Prior experience in health care/medical office preferred. Basic computer knowledge, knowledge of medical terminology and working knowledge of an Electronic Medical Record preferred.

Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of computer ordering process, knowledge of appropriate communication systems and office equipment, strong skills in oral and written communication, strong ability to multi-task, must be adaptable to a changing environment and strong ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Knowledge of Pharmacology principles.

License or Certification: Current BLS Certification or will obtain prior to hire.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $13.74 per hour.

Hours/Pay Period: 72 hours every two week pay period

Schedule Details: This position generally works during clinic hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, 5 days one week and 4 days the second week.
