Our Lady of Peace is currently hiring for a Registered Nurse(RN) in Child Psych department.

The Registered Nurse providesleadership in planning, organizing and coordinating the functions of anassigned patient care unit for a specific shift. This role may provide care toa various patient population throughout the life span.

Provides nursing care includingadministration of medications and treatments in accordance with physicianorders and established nursing policies and procedures. Care provided is basedon defined standards of patient care and nursing practice.

Essential Duties:

* Manages and coordinates the care of patients in a defined care delivery model, utilizing the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

* Supervises and/or provides all nursing care provided to an assigned patient population. Any delegated care is based on the abilities and limitations of care personnel and patient acuity. Continually monitors the performance of the team members reporting to the RN and adjusts the delivery of care or clinical technique appropriate to the patient.

* Collaborates and communicates effectively with the interdisciplinary team.

* Accountable for patient/family education in collaboration with interdisciplinary care team and patient/family.

* Documents nursing care and patient status in accordance with the nursing process and standards of care.

* Provides a safe environment and promotes quality patient care through adherence to established standards.

* Identifies opportunities for and participates in performance improvement activities.

* Demonstrates competent professional practice, and engages in opportunities for professional growth.

* Contributes to the productivity and professional environment of the department.

* Performs related duties as required.

Education or Experiencerequirements:

* Current RN license in the State ofKentucky; ADN is required.

* BLS required.

* Minimum two years clinical nursingexperience preferred.

* One year of experience required ifposition is for the Resource Team or a PRN position.

* Psychiatric/Mental Health nursingexperience preferred.

* Able to complete Safe Crisis Managementand perform Safe Crisis Management techniques required.

A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from anaccredited nursing program is preferred. Effective May 1, 2014, allnew-hire Associate Degree Registered Nurses (new graduate and experienced)are required to start an approved BSN program within two years of hire andcomplete an approved BSN program within five years of hire.
