As the Manager of Member Relations, you will be responsible for a diverse and critical set of responsibilities supporting the Railroad Accounts working 1) with key officials and contacts at the Labor organizations and Railroads and attending their meetings to explain member benefits, including retirement benefits, and 2) in an individual member service environment to assist in resolving their issues.  You will have the opportunity to apply your relationship management skills to build and maintain key relationships with all these organizations such that you are one of their key contacts when they have issues.      
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Serve as a key contact for Railroad members, Labor organization officials and Railroad representatives for handling their issues and questions
Coordinate attendance at Labor and Railroad meetings directly with these organizations, and serve as the primary contact for all meetings
Deliver effective presentations at union meetings and benefits fairs to explain available Railroad benefits for both actively working employees as well as benefits for retired employees 
Pay a key role in explaining to members any benefits changes resulting from collective bargaining agreements between the Railroads and Labor organizations and from new product and service additions 
Strong focus on explaining details of Railroad medical retirement benefits, and also must be knowledgeable about all other benefits and Railroad plans
Ultimately serve as a conduit between the Railroad Accounts team and Railroad customer and membership for information on their concerns, issues and satisfaction with UnitedHealthcare
Must be able to manage your own time effectively to plan trips, attended required meetings and handle member issues promptly
Identify and document service issues and communicate them to Railroad Customer Service and Claims Operations so they can promptly resolve them
Commitment to significant training is a must
 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
3 - 5 years previous experience in the medical insurance industry
Ability to build and maintain strong, professional relationships with key customer contacts at all levels of their organizations
Strong, demonstrated presentations skills
Strong customer service and relationship management skills; must be able to build and maintain excellent rapport with Railroad members and individual team members
Working knowledge of health insurance industry, managed care products, FSA
Knowledge of Railroad Retirement medical benefits, Medicare, Cobra
Knowledge of Railroad benefit coverage's
Claims payment processing experience
Ability to work effectively in an independent, self-motivated environment
Excellent oral and written communication
Travel required: 75% - 85%
