Job Description:
The machinist will work mainly in the tool room where there are manual machines, grinders, and automated CNC and wire EDM machines.
Will be responsible for tool and die repair- plastic extrusion going through the dies wears the tooling out over time. Will refurbish tools by laser welding, manual grinding, smoothing down, and loading CNC or EDM.
Will measure with gauges, mics, and cals.
Tool room supports 5 other plants nationwide. Work Environment: Very clean facility. Plastic extrusion plant manufacturing plastic/vinyl siding for housing, commercial housing, fencing, and also makes PVC pipe.
FIRST SHIFT! 7AM-3PM Monday through Friday! Qualifications: -Knowledge working with wire EDM Machines (machine on site is Mitsubishi)
-Knowledge working automated and manual CNC lathes, mills, and grinders
-Laser welding
-Programming is not required, is a plus. Performance Expectations: Tiered pay structure, will start at $21.64 and if they have a journeyman cert, the pay is $22.64. They will get pay increases over time, and in November 2018, the union contract is being re negotiated for higher pay for skilled workers.
