We are seeking candidates to join our engineering teams at our R&D center located in Syracuse, New York. Selected students will get exposure to:

* Hands-on experience in multiple engineering applications to include Compression, Materials Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Embedded Software/Firmware Programs, Refrigeration Systems, Heat Transfer, and Acoustics and Indoor Air Quality.

Qualifications

Individual should have a good grasp of dynamics and solid mechanics and have taken 1 or more course in experimental methods / data analysis. Laboratory experience and mechanical vibration testing is important, at least at a rudimentary level. Completion of vibration or finite element classes or equivalent work experience is desired. Computer programming and simulation experience is a plus. Candidates should be self- motivated with the ability to work both independently and as a team player, with strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. The position will offer an opportunity for the intern to contribute technically while exposing them to the exciting engineering challenges at United Technologies and the Carrier HVAC&R product lines.

Education The ideal candidate will be a college sophomore or above pursing a Bachelors degree or Masters/PhD in Mechanical or Electrical engineering and if selected will support the sound and vibration team in modeling, testing and qualification of Commercial and Residential HVAC&R products.
