Position Overview
This position is located in the Claims Department of company operations center in Phoenix, Arizona. The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for sorting, review and scanning of mail received by the Phoenix operations center. The mail includes all manner of business correspondence; however, the majority of it is related to claims submitted by providers and health plan members, clinical data needed for prior approval of specified clinical services, and other business-related materials. The specialist's tasks include posting of received documents, scanning of claims, xrays, and other materials and saving the completed work in specified files and work queues for the Claims Processors and the Dental Utilization Management department Processors. The work of the Inventory Control Specialist is accomplished using company systems applications and on-line reference tools. The Inventory Control Specialist's productive output is guided by performance objectives for the position that specify the volume of documents to be processed on an hourly basis and required accuracy and quality performance standards.

Essential Job Functions
* Opening, sorting, and cataloging mail according to specified procedures and inventory control processes
* Scanning X-Rays and photographing dental molds
* Scanning claims and various clinical documents, ensuring that the integrity of the documents for individual files are retained as an intact unit
* Maintaining standardized productivity, accuracy and quality performance standards for documents processed
* Attend weekly team meetings relating to data entry and inventory control, updates on company and departmental policies and procedures, and other related communications
* Other duties as assigned
