GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support. **Job Summary** **This position is contingent upon contract award.** **This work will be performed in various locations: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and Guam.** Drives gasoline or diesel powered tractor-trailer combination or truck and full trailer combination to transport, pickup and deliver materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form. Vehicles typically have a weight of more than 26,000 pounds. Operator must be certified as able to haul Hazardous Material by DoT. Operator is responsible for ensuring all before, during, and after operations checks and services are performed on the vehicle assigned. Loads must be verified as to items and counts and must be properly secured during movement. Additionally operators must be licensed to operate MHE as they may be required to load and off load material utilizing the same. Operators must be able to read a map and follow instructions and directions. Must be able to report location and receive instruction via radio and cellular telephone. May be required to operate a vehicle on the flight line. **Essential Responsibilities:** 1. Drives truck (up to and including 26,0000 pounds) to destination for pickup and deliveries based on instructions/directions received and map directions. 2. Inspects truck for defects before and after trips monitors vehicle during trips and submits report indicating truck condition. 3. Must be able to hookup and/or disconnect tractor-trailer combination vehicles. 4. Maintains driver log according to I.C.C. regulations. 5. Secures all materials being transported to ensure it is secured to prevent loss and/or damage. 6. Must be able to receive instructions/directions and provide progress reports via radio or cellular phone. 7. Assists workers in loading and unloading truck or perform functions by self. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. **Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
