OptumCare is Optum’s growing care delivery footprint with over 2 million care delivery consumers, more than 40 contracted payers and 16,000 care delivery physicians.Clinical Documentation and Quality Initiatives (CDQI) is a part of OptumCare and has the primary goal of the effective implementation, monitoring and execution of government pay for performance programs with a focus on risk adjustment and quality star ratings driven by clinical insight.The Clinical Education Specialist works in CDQI and is responsible for applying instructional design and development principles and processes to produce effective, engaging and innovative programs to support our quality and risk adjustment initiatives. You will partner with providers, CDQI leaders and other staff to determine and propose performance improvement solutions. Your primary goal is to ensure learning transfer occurs and to successfully address performance gaps in our local care delivery organizations (medical groups and IPAs).You will be responsible to creatively implement various educational design strategies for clinical learning delivery. You will produce original learning solutions in addition to converting existing instructor-led training programs to online programs. The Clinical Education Specialist will apply innovative and creative strategies including but not limited to web-based tutorials, documented procedures, audio and video vignettes, and simulations using various technology tools. In this role, you will also act as a project manager over the implementation of the curriculum, which includes tasks such as planning trainings, coordinating with regional staff to deliver trainings, tracking effectiveness of trainings and education through reporting outcomes.

Works with minimal guidance; seeks direction on only the most complex tasks
Applies a systems approach to clinical curriculum design, re-design, development and maintenance
Manages the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of clinical learning programs from new hire training materials supporting ongoing learning to professional development of more seasoned clinical audiences
Defines clinical learning objectives and coordinates with subject matter experts for content design
Builds collaborative partnerships with colleagues, others in CDQI and with business partners across OptumCare
Responsible for educational material design intake and demand prioritization
Accept responsibilities as needed in defining process and standards as related to clinical education

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
5 or more years of experience designing and developing engaging, effective online adult learning programs and tools, both synchronous and asynchronous, using current and successful strategies while applying a systematic approach to instructional design and development
5 or more years of experience in conducting learning analysis
Fully proficient incorporating multiple media elements in to learning programs including audio, video, animation, simulation, and self-developed graphics
Microsoft Office software: Intermediate skill level with Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Strong project management, organizational and prioritization skills; able to handle multiple responsibilities
Knowledge of principles of adult learning and needs assessment techniques
Ability to communicate throughout business with all levels of employees including senior management
Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills
Strong, effective written and oral communication skills
Skills in research, development and review of medical content
Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, flexible and able to meet deadlines
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and fact-based decision making abilities
Ability to work with less structured, more complex issues in a self-directed and not prescribed environment
