As a Business Analyst,  you will be empowered to support short and long term operational / strategic business activities. In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your analyst skills and create valuable solutions to improve the health care system. You will establish collaborative relationships with stakeholders, gather accurate requirements and evaluate product performance for enhancements. You will strategically and creatively think about how the consumer experience should work; translating a vision to processes and requirements that potentially impacts millions of lives and helps health the health care system.
 
You will play a critical role in creating and managing the product / team backlog of user stories and collaborating with the rest of the Agile team to help define the program increment (PI) and sprint goals and commitments.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of large-scale business priority projects with significant financial impact and forecast / plan resource requirements
Understand strategic priorities and implement effective solutions that support business priorities - think strategically and deliver tactically
Ensure deliverables are met within scope / timeframe / resource triple constraint
Be a change leader - effectively engage and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions
Ability to function in a multi-project environment with changing priorities
Demonstrated ability to manage directly or indirectly cross - functional teams in geographically dispersed workforce across several companies
Ability to engage functional partners (Telecom, Technology, Facilities, Operations, Training, Reporting Product, Quality, Legal, Regulatory, etc.) to effectively deliver on each project
Anticipate customer needs and proactively develops solutions, develop innovative approaches, and ability to gain acceptance, then implement flawlessly
Recognize gaps between current situation and desired outcome and utilize appropriate resources to obtain information, consider solutions and deliver the solution
Communicate / disseminate critical information to multiple audiences at all levels throughout the organization
Ability to analyze root cause of issue, solve complex problems and provide key recommendations for implementation process improvements and develop innovative solutions
Work across a matrix environment to engage appropriate internal and external partners to assure successful execution
Collaborate with the Agile team to help define the program increment (PI) user stories and features in support of the program backlog
Gain extensive understanding of business processes and application architecture to serve as a valuable resource for understanding what should be captured to ensure high quality requirements
Consults with technical solution architects as they develop architectural designs
 

Requirements


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience
5+ years of business analysis experience in a fast paced, matrixed organization, quality-focused environment
2+ Years of leadership / management experience (either directly or indirectly through project work)
Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
Ability to gain acceptance for ideas, plans, actions and then implement flawlessly across organizational boundaries
Effective interpersonal influence, collaboration and listening skills
Exceptional communication skills and experience working across many levels of an organization
Rigorous attention to detail, a driving curiosity to elicit detailed business requirements, and commitment to follow through
Ability to drive business solutions and priorities by adapting to a diverse IT development environment
Hands on experience in developing and writing clear business requirements as user stories and features in an Agile Development environment
Ability to support multiple concurrent projects and meet delivery timelines
Self-motivated professional who can work independently or closely with PMO project and program managers
Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint
Preferred Qualifications:

Proficient with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or Optum Scaled Agile Model (OSAM)
Familiarity with Optum and Optum’s products & services
Healthcare industry experience is a plus
