Qualification for Position
The successful completion of
  • Home Instead Senior Care’s PCH Training or
  • Home Health Aide Training or
  • CNA certification or LPN/RN licensure and documentation of six hours of continued education for each year after the obtainment of certification.
 
Essential Function
To provide basic Companionship and Home Helper tasks plus the following functions:

1. Provide Bathing
  • Sponge
  • Tub
  • Shower
 
2. Provide Personal Hygiene
  • Cleaning nails
  • Mouth/Denture Care
 
3. Monitor Vital Signs (HHA/CNA or Licensure Only)
  • Temperature
  • Pulse
  • Respiration
 
4. Assist to Transfer (one person)
  • Bed to Chair/Wheelchair/Commode
 
5. Ambulate
  • Walker/Cane/Gait Belt
 
6. Provide Range of Motion/Positioning
  • Active HHA/CNA or Licensure to provide Passive ROM
 
7. Toileting and Managing Incontinence
 
8. Supervise the taking of pre-poured medications
 
9. Perform additional physical requirements listed below
  • Daily documentation in Client Journal
  • Will call office immediately if any changes in Client’s status is noted
  • Scrubs are required attire

Essential Qualifications and Functions
  • Speaking and understanding English clearly in person and on the telephone
  • Reading English on an average adult level
  • Ability to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect
  • Ability to communicate with the client in a friendly and congenial manner
  • Ability to communicate with office staff to ensure that service expectations are met
  • Ability to perform Companion and Home Helper Responsibilities
  • Ability to perform Personal Care Homemaker Responsibilities
  • Ability to perform physical requirements listed above
