In this Director - IT Architecture role, you will be working closely with critical business applications to improve their reliability and performance.  You will have full access and authority to fix, extend, and scale the code/infrastructure and harden it against relentless malware attacks.  You will also partner with development teams to build and scale tooling to help with site resiliency.        
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Manage the availability, scalability and performance of portfolio applications
Solve problems relating to critical business applications including troubleshooting of network, application, and hardware bottlenecks
Research, recommend, and implement new technologies to maximize performance
Voice your opinion if you think differently from the rest of the team
Engage in capacity planning and demand forecasting to ensure reliability and capacity during peak season

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

BS degree or related technical field
A minimum of 12 years in Information Technology
8+ years of application support and operations
5+ years of Log aggregation expertise with Splunk
Experience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design.
Proven problem solving abilities including working with unfamiliar technologies
Well versed with APM tools (dynaTrace, New Relic, DCRum)
Architect level experience with OS (Linux/Windows) or App tier (jboss, apache, websphere, Splunk, etc)
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in one or more of: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, nodeJS
Expertise in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
Understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems from init to shell, system tuning and troubleshooting to resolve performance issues
Proficient with network theory, such as different protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, etc), MAC addresses, IP packets, DNS, OSI layers, and load balancing)
Health care industry experience
