About this job

This position is responsible for the tracking, set-up and research of employee withholding taxes related to short term business travel and equity for senior executives.  This role will also be responsible for communication and customer service for nonresident tax issues and will act as a subject matter expert for these taxes.
 
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Act as an SME for payroll tax questions and issues related to nonresident withholding and tax allocation for executive equity
Partner with third party vendor to calculate and track employee travel and tax allocations
Partner with the Financial Fitness team and TPA to gather necessary information to allocate correct taxes for equity
Manage Tier 2 cases related to business travel and executive equity, including communication directly to employees based on their individual situation
Responsible for running queries to audit the taxes and allocations for each bi-weekly payroll
Responsible for researching and resolving complex payroll tax issues
Continually monitor and review the nonresident withholding and executive equity tax allocations and make recommendations for on-going process improvements
Collaborate with HRIS, Payroll Operations, Communications and HR communities in the support of payroll operations and tax changes
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees, key internal and external customers and vendors
Assist with year-end review and processing
Other projects as assigned

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma/GED
3+ years functional experience with multistate North American Payroll/tax

Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel required 
  
Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks with hard deadlines simultaneously
BA or BS, FPC or CPP
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Project documentation discipline
Strong analytical, problem solving skills, including query skills
Strong understanding of how to build efficient operational processes
Knowledge of Gross to Net Payroll and General Accounting Principles
Various hours as needed to support payroll tax processing with increased need at quarter ends and year end
Previous multi-state tax experience preferred
Experience with PeopleSoft HRMS version 8.9, 9.0 or higher preferred
