About This Position

Evaluates patients; participates in the treatment program planning; administers occupational therapy modalities, procedures and tests; documents accurate patient records and progress notes; maintains appropriate oral or written contact with the referring physician, subordinates co workers, and the public. Ensures a clean and safe work environment by being alert for unsafe conditions and malfunctioning equipment and using appropriate procedures for their correction; supervises aides and assistants in their participation in the overall treatment program. Assists Occupational Therapy Supervisor with Q.I. as required. Performs other related duties such as: Participates in all departmental functions and activities as required, including inservice education, clerical and other tasks relevant to effective department function as necessary.

Selection Criteria

* Previous experience as an Occupational Therapist preferred but not required.

* Previous hand therapy experience preferred but not required.

* Must be a graduate of an accredited school of occupational therapy to qualify for licensure/certification.

* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, accurately, and possess good interpersonal skills.

* Demonstrates basic knowledge of the principles, techniques and procedures within the scope of their practice as a Occupational Therapist.

* Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently.

* Demonstrates ability to function in a team environment, collaborating with other patient care team members, physicians, patient, and their families.

* Ability to teach techniques and procedures of occupational therapy to patients and their caregivers.

* Able to work with minimal supervision.

* Should be a member of Occupational Therapists Association of California (OTAC) and Certified in CPR.

* Pediatric Occupational Therapist to cover Outpatient, Inpatient (including NICU & PICU) and High Risk Infant Follow-up (HRIF) Clinic

* CCS Paneling preferred, required after hire upon appropriate experience

* Adult Neuro experience also preferred
