The Job Coach plays a critical role in providing training and coaching for people with disabilities whose goal is to become as independent as possible in their community jobs. Support individuals so they can progress and learn how to perform their job accurately, efficiently, safely and successfully. Join our dedicated and energized team to help increase the number of people with disabilities working in our community. 

This position will travel to employment sites throughout Milwaukee County. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct assessments, work trials, and temporary work experiences to identify vocational interests, strengths, and development areas. 

2. Assist individuals in the orientation to employer’s procedures, products, services, standards, policies, benefits and opportunities. 

3. Develop individual plans and training objectives, write regular case notes, and submit monthly progress reports. 

4. Provide job-related counseling and guidance in career exploration, social skill awareness, effective money management, personal grooming, and general community skills. 

5. Provide emotional and problem-solving support as needed to individuals. 

6. Provide ongoing support, communication and assistance to employers or supervisors.

Requirements    

1. Associate's Degree in a related field (Bachelor's Degree preferred) and one year of experience.

2. Prior experience working with individuals with in a variety of disabilities is preferred.

3. Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time.

4. Ability to work independently.

5. Valid driver's license and driving record that meet insurance company criteria.
