Purpose:

Retail Sales Associates are important ambassadors of the Burlington brand, at the front lines in our mission to provide world-class service to our customers. You’ll be responsible for greeting and assisting customers, maintaining a neat, organized and clean sales floor, and supporting the management team with day-to-day store operations. Retail Sales Associates may be assigned to work in any or all of the following departments: Ladies, Men, Youth, Sportswear, Shoes, Home, or Baby Depot.

Responsibilities:
  • Assisting customers in locating merchandise when needed
  • Assisting in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping
  • Assisting in ringing up sales at registers and/or bagging merchandise
    Performing other tasks as assigned by manager from time-to-time

REQUIREMENTS:
Positively communicate and demonstrate the company’s Core Values by developing trust and respect among peers and staff, building strong teams and partnerships and driving results

Provide tactical guidance and input regarding HR strategies that support the vision, culture, and business needs of the organization

Act as the key interface between corporate HR and the stores in order to proactively support and add value in the delivery of business objectives

Visit stores and build trusting consultative relationships with employees and store management

Overall management to achieve customer satisfaction while supporting the development of a customer service culture in the stores

Manage all generalist duties for the region:

Support the region in establishing and executing an effective recruiting strategy (short and long term) and work with the region to source, recruit, interview, and hire qualified candidates for management and staff openings; Coordinate and facilitate onsite job fairs for grand openings

Train store, district, and regional management in all areas of human capital management including: policy and procedure, leadership skills and development, sexual harassment, talent acquisition, performance management, terminations, and benefits

Execute all corporate programs within the region

Coordinate performance management program by ensuring performance expectations and policy guidelines are being met, and are conducted effectively and in a timely manner

Handle various employee relations issues, such as investigating employees complaints, resolving employee conflicts and advising appropriate action to store management

Assist with the benefits open enrollment process by facilitating and conducting meetings for store locations

Serve as a resource to field team members for answering general benefit questions and provide advice on unemployment hearings and workers' compensation hearings

Work closely with the Benefits Department on Long Term Disability claims

Partner with internal and/or external legal counsel to prepare for and/or respond to lawsuits or complaints filed by outside agencies; Attend mediations, arbitrations, and other court proceedings as needed

Develop and maintain HR metrics

Ensure proper channels of communication exist between the retail support staff and the corporate office
