Wedding and Karaoke DJ Assistant/DJ

I am looking for someone who would like a part time job being a Wedding & Karaoke DJ assistant/future DJ. I run and independently owned and operated Wedding & Karaoke DJ Business which is moderately successful. It has been very successful in the past but with my other career getting busy I am not able to invest as much time in promoting it and taking on more events. I am only one person running it and now I need HELP, but only the right person will do!  

The person applying for this position should be:

• At least 21 years of age
• Have a positive attitude
• Be articulate
• Enjoy being around, interacting with and meeting new people
• Should understand what being punctual means
• Should maintain good personal hygiene and understand what looking professional means
• Should love listening to playing music as well as have a broad eclectic taste in music
• Should be willing to learn and take instruction
• Should be dependable
• Should be computer literate and understand how to play MP3 music
  • Owning your own laptop is a plus but is not necessary
  • Familiarity with the Virtual DJ application also a plus but not necessary
• Should have a valid driver's license and own a car with current auto insurance
• Should be willing to submit to a background check
• Should be a high school graduate
• Should be willing to work Friday and Saturday nights
• Should have English as first language

I own all the equipment necessary to provide DJ service for Wedding Dances, Karaoke Bars and most party events. I am also adding a photo booth as well and with the growth expected in events I need the extra help.

The right person will be shown how to do everything, from setting up all the equipment to playing the music and being a DJ. Eventually, if interested, the right person will be allowed to DJ their own events.

They will be compensated well for their assistance and once they feel confident to DJ on their own, they will be able to DJ events and will receive the majority of the DJ fee minus the fee for using the equipment and the overhead cost of marketing to book events.

I will show the right person how to advertise through marketing and website promotion, interact with prospective customers and book events. Any events you generate will result in you receiving a greater fee for your promotional efforts.

Ultimately I am looking for the right person who can eventually take over DJing the events while I manage the bookings. I'm hoping to book more events and expand.
